Frequently Asked Questions:

How much will my tattoo cost?

The cost of your tattoo will all depend on its size, location, amount of detail, and the time needed to complete it. Pricing starts at $100 (shop minimum) for a quarter size, black, simple tattoo and goes up from there.

For larger/ multiple session projects, pricing is determined by the length of the session and are priced according to your artist’s hourly rate, which are listed on the website.

For these reasons, it’s very difficult to provide accurate quotes in advance, but if requested in advance, our artists can usually size and/or design your piece to stay in a certain budget, just let us know.

Do you take walk-ins?

If we have an artist available, we will absolutely take walk-ins. However, many times our schedule is full, so to ensure we have the time and artist available for you during your preferred time period, it is recommended to make an appointment. Depending on the tattoo design and size, we can often have availability weekly so call or send us an email to start the booking process.

Do you tattoo minors?

At this time, we do not offer tattoo services to minors.

Do you offer finger tattoos/hand tattoos?

While we do offer tattoos in these placements, we consider them to be high-maintenance areas. The skin does not usually hold ink as well as other areas of the body and due to this, they are often much more prone to fading. We generally do not offer finger and/or hand tattoos if it will be your first tattoo. If these areas are a placement you are considering, we recommended doing as much research in advance that you feel comfortable with in order to make that decision, at the very least googling healed finger tattoos. We would advise that usually future touch ups are needed in order for these tattoos to hold.

What conditions will I not be allowed to be tattooed?

We will not offer tattoos if you are currently pregnant, on blood thinners, or otherwise against doctor recommendations. We will not offer tattoos if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. We will not tattoo any skin where that area specifically is currently an open wound, sunburnt, has active psoriasis, etc. if you are unsure if the area you want tattooed is suitable, please feel free to ask.

Do you offer consults?

While we do offer in-person consults free of charge it is not necessary on the shop’s end, and we advise that they are usually only a few minutes of sharing ideas and no drawing is done at that time.

A phone consultation is sometimes a better option. We usually have clients send a follow up email with the information, reference photos, etc. so if it is easier or more convenient for the client, we can also always do this process over email.

Do you offer piercing services?

Yes, we have an in-house piercer that takes walk ins for piercings during business hours currently with the exception of Wednesdays. Please feel free to come anytime, there is usually only a few minute wait if any. A photo ID is required. If the client if a minor, a parent with photo ID needs to be present. In the case of navel and any ear piercings, we will accept 16+ with photo ID with no parent needed.

Do you offer cover ups?

Yes, send us an email with a photo of your current tattoo as well as the details for the design you would like it covered with.

Do you allow/offer numbing cream?

Yes, we do sell numbing cream in house. If you are interested in using it for an appointment please plan ahead and talk with your artist before your appointment to make sure it is the right choice for you. If you are a first timer, we ask that you do not use numbing cream.

Do I need ID to be tattooed?

Yes, please bring a photo ID to your appointment, we will need to take a photo to document it.

What can I do to prepare for my tattoo appointment?

Make sure you are well RESTED and hydrated and have a full meal/ eat a sufficient amount. Shaving the area the day before the tattoo appointment can be helpful to have less skin irritation, but be careful to avoid any cuts or razor burn. Moisturizing the area in the weeks before your appointment will help the tattoo heal better.

DO NOT consume excessive amounts of alcohol the day before your appointment.

Make sure you DO NOT have a sunburn or are recovering from sunburn the day of your appointment.

Can I bring a friend(s)/kids/etc?

You are welcome to bring guests, but as space can get limited please limit the number of people to a reasonable amount. Children are welcome, please be aware that babies and small children are not able to be held by the client during the tattooing process.

How long should I wait in between tattoo sessions?

To continue work on a started project, the tattoo must be fully healed. As everyone’s skin is different, generally a minimum of 2 weeks and more often at least 3 or 4 weeks is required between appointments.

How long will a sleeve take?

The exact amount of time to complete a large project such as a sleeve will have many variables such as the design details, the clients skin, etc.

For clients that want to get as much work done as quickly as possible, we do offer full day appointments of 6 hours of tattooing with a flat rate (per artist).

A sleeve will require several appointments to complete. Sleeves and ½ sleeves can NOT be completed in one full day session.

Can I (______) after getting tattooed?

Swim- While short periods of your tattoo underwater will not affect it (washing the tattoo with antibacterial soap after is advised), you should not keep your healing tattoo submerged underwater for more than a few minutes at a time for the first two weeks after it is done. However, we have an adhesive bandage option (brand names saniderm/tegaderm/second skin/ etc) for sale at our shop which is waterproof and would allow you to keep your tattoo underwater for longer lengths of time if preferred.

Sweat (yoga,sauna,gym,etc)-  Could potentially affect the healing process if not treated carefully during excessive amounts of activity. If the tattoo is coming into contact with sweat, it is recommended to wash it after with an antibacterial soap.

Avoid friction, contact with surfaces, rubbing and exfoliating of any kind.

Go into the sun- No, please properly cover the tattoo and/or avoid sunlight for the first month after getting your tattoo. After the first month, once your tattoo is fully healed, use sunscreen (50+SPF) as it will protect the tattoo from fading over time.

Do color tattoos fade?

Some colors tend to fade faster than others including pastel and light shades and lighter colors like yellow, white, etc. Sun exposure, placement, tattoo style, aftercare, etc can all be extra factors that impact this.

Will you finish my tattoo someone else started?

Although sometimes exceptions are made and we decide those on a case to case basis, we generally prefer not to finish a tattoo started by another artist and recommend reaching out to the original artist to continue, or discuss with them.

If that is something you are not able to do or not willing/comfortable doing, please reach out to us with more details to determine if we can proceed.

Is swelling/bruising normal?

Yes- swelling, bruising, redness, soreness, etc is all a normal part of the healing process and not cause for alarm.
